Chuzenji Temple Tachiki Kannon
This temple was built in 784 by Shodo-shonin who founded Nikko, and it is a branch temple of Rinnoji Temple, one of world heritage sites.
The principal object of worship is "Tachiki Kannon" which was carved out of a standing japanese judas tree by Shodo-shonin.
This temple is famous for a japanese movie "Aizen Katsura", and you can see a japanese judas tree that has the same name as movie.
The leaves are in the form of a heart and it's called as tree of marriage.
The tree that appeared in the movie was destroyed by lightning but you can see the second-generation young tree.

Futarasan-jinja Chugushi Shrine
Futarasan-jinja has so large precinct including almost all of famous spots in Oku-Nikko like Iroha-zaka slope, Mount Nantai, Kegon Falls, Lake Chuzenji and so on.
Chugushi Shrine, one of three Furarasan-jinja, was built in 784, and you can see a huge yew tree more than a thousand years old, and a treasure museum that displays such as swords.
From this shrine, you can access to Okumiya (rear shrine) on the top of Mount Nantai.
